To create new Calandar Events
Step 1: Login to the Dashbaord (www.papaspizza.net/wp-admin)
Step 2: Run your mouse over “My Calendar” and a side menu opens. From this select, “Add/Edit Events.”
Step 3: In the field labeled “Event Title(required)” enter the title of your event as you would like it to appear on the calendar.
Step 4: In the “Event Description (HTML allowed)” field enter the description of your event. When you click on the title of an event on the calendar it loads a pop-up window with the description you are entering here. See Step 4.5 PDF Link below Step 7.
Step 5: The “Event Category” field designates which store’s calendar this event will appear on. There are categories for each store, a category for all of the stores (“AllLocations”) and one specifically for events that occur at the three Eugene/Springfield area stores (“W11thCoburgSpringfield”).
Step 6: Set the “Start Date” with the following format: year-month-day (yyyy-mm-dd, you may need to use zeroes. Example, April 9th, 2012 would be: 2012-04-09). The time field you can leave blank. The End Date field will automatically be set to match the Start Date when you save the event and need not be entered.
Step 7: Click on the “Save Event” button, which is to the right of the “Event Title” field, and the event will now appear on your calendar. You can leave the Event Host field alone, it defaults to “admin” and like the “Time” fields are not displayed anywhere on the calendar.
Step 4.5: To have a flyer/.PDF file linked to your post
Step 1: Run your mouse over “Media” and a side menu opens. From this select, “Add New.”
Step 2: You can “drag and drop” .PDF files here to load them to the website. Alternatively “Select Files” to find your files via a standard Explorer window.
Step 3: Once uoloaded, click on the “Show” and “Hide” links as necesary to open the media file’s details. In this window you can copy the link for your .PDF flyer from the “File URL” field.
Step 4: In your “Event Description” field you want to paste your link in between the quotation marks of the href=”” html link. This is the pink highlighted area from step 4.
Step 1: Run your mouse over “My Calendar” and a side menu opens. From this select, “Add/Edit Events.”
Step 2: Scroll down below the “Add Event” portion of the page to the “Manage Events” area. All of your previously saved events will be listed here. On the far right of each event posting is an “edit” link, click on this.
Step 3: The event will load similarly as before. Make your edits and click on “Save Event,” like before. Note: If you change the “Start Date,” then you will need to change the “End Date” to match.
